The Storm

This quote by Sufi Poet Jalal ad-Din Muhammed Rumi states “Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder”. In advocating for social justice, equality & inclusion it can seem easy to ‘raise our voice’ in protest and demand that things be made right. However, anger and violence, although seemingly justified, are only the other side of the same coin of the oppressors. Battles must be fought with calm and powerful words while inspiring others to cultivate a growth solution-oriented mentality.
